About me

So, what is to be done?

I have gotten quite a bit into political economy in the last two years, and I find the Marx-ward you go the more jargon filled the discourse. Theory and theorists are critical to our understanding, defining and crafting solutions to the problems of our society, but such work must translate into day-to-day conversations and language that is accessible to the greatest number of people, in the language they already use. And yes, I must acknowledge that English is the language of capitalism.

My plan for this blog is to try and articulate the problems of capitalism as I see them as simply as I can. I am first a reader and I expect what I write for this blog to be heavily influenced by the books I read. My non-fiction reading is heavily grounded in the militant struggle for liberation in the third world and my fiction oriented towards hearing voices the media refused to amplify. I am also a citizen of an unjust world and that has also shaped my views, as it has for us all in either direction. Paraphrasing the words of Albert Camus, the world I live in is loathsome to me, we must be one with those who suffer in it.

Finally, I must thank a good friend (whose desire to remain anonymous I must presume), for offering to host this site, unprompted.

See you around!
